About Me

My photo
For my part, I travel not to go anywhere, but to go. I travel for travel’s sake. The great affair is to move. The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page. My world is the never-ending story and I expect to continue reading as long as I breathe!

Part 6: “Gaudi, gaudi, gaudi”

This part is the continuation of part 4... Chapter 5 was an interlude since all of these posts are posted anachronistically.

The title says it all. I went to see the two main houses. The first, Casa Battlo is based on the legend of Saint George and the second, the Pedrerra is modeled after a cliff worn away by sea, wind and textured with seaweed wrought-iron balconies. Wasn’t able to visit the insides of either, but there an exhibit of Javier Mariscal’s art in the gallery in the Pedrerra so I counted that. The Sagrada was epic. Parc Guell was mind-blowing… I plan on going back and trying to draw. Something I haven’t done in years. It sounds like a lot of effort right now. Maybe pictures will be easier.

I didn't manage to take that many great pics of Gaudi's casas, but you can see them at these links:

This view actually made me want to be a better person so that I can go to heaven ;)
